Bali, one of roughly 17,500 islands in the Indonesian archipelago, is celebrated for its remarkable diversity of coffee. High in the Kintamani region—at elevations between 3,600 and 4,900 feet—farmers cultivate the renowned Bali Blue Moon on rich volcanic soil. Pesticides are strictly prohibited in this region, allowing the coffee to grow naturally and sustainably.
The name Blue Moon comes from the traditional Giling Basah wet‑hulling process, which gives the beans their signature bluish‑green hue. This method also contributes to the cup’s distinctive character: low acidity, a full body, and flavor notes often described as baker’s chocolate, cedar, and tobacco.
At The Art of the Bean and Leaf, we proudly roast this exceptional coffee to a balanced medium roast, highlighting its smooth sweetness and deep, earthy complexity.
